I Was Not Ready For That Splatoon Direct

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

Well shit. The Splatoon 3 Direct has come and gone, and I could not say enough positive things about the look of this game. Splatoon is quickly becoming one of the most beloved franchises created by Nintendo, and that shows with how excited literally everyone and their cat is about Splatoon 3. So many things about this direct made things all the more exciting though. Let's talk about it.

As expected, Nintendo truly delivered on the Splatoon Direct last night. One of the most expected features that was shown was some of the new weapons and abilities within Splatoon 3. These literally made the hype go from kind of big to HUGE. These new weapons and abilities look incredible. Like, something about them just felt like we were helping Splatoon find its long lost sibling. These, accompanied by showing us the NPCs of all kinds made this game feel like one of the biggest releases of this year, like it should feel.

One feature that was announced, Tableturf Battle, may not be everyone's cup of squid ink, but I am super excited for it. I love games like Tetris, I love card games, it's a no brainer. There is something about this minigame that feels so fresh. It can also be something to do while you're waiting for friends or trying to chill out between games.

The new Amiibos were also a super exciting part of this direct. The vibrant colours are so lovely and these look super well made. I will definitely need these in my collection. Not to mention we can also use all Amiibos from past games to unlock stuff in Splatoon 3. This alongside 2 years of seasonal clothing items is like heaven for all the fashionistas out there.

The new game mode was the highlight for most of us. There is finally going to be some changing up with a 3 team game mode which will be more chaotic than ever. This also means any time there is a Splatfest, we will get to pick from 3 teams, which is something some of us couldn't have imagined in our wildest dreams. Plus it came with the announcement of the new musical group Deep Cut, which made so many of us instantly fall in love with Big Man, the manta ray.

The cherry on top of this whole thing had to be the Splatoon 3 world premiere of Splatfest. Luckily for those of us who are hyped about this event, it's not far away, it is literally at the end of this month. That's right, 2 whole weeks before the actual release of Splatoon 3, we already get to play an event, and it's even free to play. I also do love that we get to pick between three teams for Splatfest now, the theme of this being Scissors, Paper and Rock (the obvious best). I am beyond excited for everything this game has to offer.

What team will you be when Splatfest is here? Comment down below!

Have a nice day!

Love, Galaxy Gaymer x
