'Gun Gun Pixies' Is Kind Of Adorable

Hey guys! It's your lad again, Galaxy Gaymer!

Some games are really good at keeping to the normal, kid-friendly guidelines that most of us grew up with, but then there is a complete parallel to this. The games that really push the envelope are the games that really reject the rules that average games follow are truly underrated. One of these games being the game we are discussing today, 'Gun Gun Pixies'.

Gun Gun Pixies is about some pixies/ aliens from a far away galaxy that is full of conflict, apart from the protagonists. Their mission is to go to a planet full of humans where they need to learn the mannerisms and the lifestyles of their subjects. This game is quite risque and really pushes average gaming boundaries and is really a new take on third person shooters.

Upon first playing this game, I really enjoyed it and thought the storyline was actually quite deep and well thought out. It has really excellent graphics and I believe it is a very smooth and underrated game. I had read many negative reviews about this game, but as usual, I gave it a solid and fair chance, just so I could create my own opinion about it. Long story short, I really enjoyed it. The only downside is that I may be waiting a long time to play it on Switch and I was only able to borrow the game for a week from my friend, along with their PS Vita.

At the end of the day, I think this game is really suited for fans of games such as Gal*Gun, as it bears many similarities. I do think that it will be well worth the wait for the Switch version to be released, especially the Day One Edition which has some really great loot that relates to the game.

Are there any games similar to Gun Gun Pixies that you think I should try and review next? Comment down below and I shall consider any and all suggestions.

Have a nice day!

'Tokyo School Life' is an ADDICTION

Hey guys! It's your lad here, Galaxy Gaymer.

Now, one thing I have noticed since getting my Switch last year, the eShop really has a insanely broad variety of games that just keeps coming and coming. One type of game I have seen the most of is visual novels. Nintendo has a surprising amount of visual novels, specifically ones that are both a high school and dating sim combined. I have found myself really enjoying this kind of game lately, too!

As some may know, PQube is kind of my go-to publisher to purchase games from, as they have such a wide variety of games that take me a little out of my old comfort zone and really push me to try games I would never try previously! Recently, PQube bought out a new game that is one of these games that has made me REALLY broaden my horizons, with a game by the name of 'Tokyo School Life'.

Tokyo School Life, as I said, is a high school dating sim, but it has a bit more of a twist to it than the average high school dating sim. Your character is actually a foreign student who is only in Japan for 2 months and, unlike many games like this, you don't have a barrage of choice to make, just enough to make you able to end up with your desired ending. There are multiple endings but I actually unintentionally ended up with literally the most boring ending possible in my first play-through.
The visuals in this game a beautifully done and not too complex, which I really appreciate. The length of the game also isn't too short or too long! My first play-through the the game lasted a bit over two hours which I really appreciated, but the ending came very suddenly, due to the choices that I made. I say the replayability of this game is very strong and literally the day after I finished playing I started it again. This continued to happen until now, when I have put over 20 hours into this game in a few weeks!

I'd say this game is really well suited for someone who wants to start out in playing visual novel-type games as it really steadily introduces you to the genre. I must also say, it has the right amount of lewd aspects to the game to make it not too off-putting, but more to make you really happy throughout the whole story, which is a huge highlight of the game.

I will surely be doing more reviews on games such as this one very soon, so stay tuned! What is a Visual Novel, especially on the Nintendo Switch, that you really enjoyed and think I should try next? Feel free to comment and I will surely be considering any and all recommendations!

Have a nice day!

'The First Tree' is a Beautiful Piece of Art

Hey everyone, it's your lad Galaxy Gaymer here!

2019 has been a year of discovering so many types of games I am yet to experience. I have recently been somewhat obsessed with the kinds of games that have amazing art styles, a heartfelt story line and a whole world to explore every tiny piece of. One of these games in particular is a game by the name of 'The First Tree'.

The First Tree is a third-person exploration game where you play as a mother fox looking for her cubs, all while the voice-over is focused on a couple's stories of family and tragedy, whilst also discussing the man's dream about the mother and her cubs that experienced in his dreams. The objective of the game itself is to dig up various objects as the fox, each of which will tell a different aspect of the stories, to collect all the stars throughout the game world, and to find the missing cubs. Some of the themes and stories of the game draw inspiration from directors who influenced the creator of the game, such as Terrence Malick and Cormac McCarthy.

The creator of The First Tree, David Wehle, who started off in the film industry originally majoring in film at college, has explained how he loves story-driven games where you can explore every nook and cranny possible like Journey, Firewatch and Gone Home, which all have various similarities to The First Tree. The fox character in the game is inspired by Fox, a name in his wife's family and also one of her favourite animals growing up. David also has expressed that he has always been creative and he was actually even obsessed with mod making and creating a world with a variety of different places. The emotion displayed in David's games is also inspired by games such as Dear Esther, which directly inspired him to create his first game, Home Is Where One Starts, a game about a girl growing up in a broken home in the American south. Then, he did it again with The First Tree.

I, personally, have managed to invest over 12 hours into this game. The story of both the fox and the couple really draw you in and make you want the hear their story in its entirety. The 'collectathon' aspect of the game is also a huge factor the instantly drew me in as I grew up with games like Banjo Kazooie, so I am one of those people that HAS to collect everything. The art style in this game is truly stunning and may be one of my favourite parts of this game. With every part of the world, the surroundings get more beautiful and have such incredible detail that allow you to just engross yourself into the game. I must also say, the soundtrack in The First Tree is absolutely stunning and adds to the emotion already displayed in this game, making it even more beautiful.

I truly believe that a wide variety of people can enjoy The First Tree. Whether you are a PC, Playstation, Nintendo Switch, or Xbox player, you should definitely play this game in my opinion. It may not be an insane 100 storyline, but I have replayed it multiple times and I discover something new every time!

What are some incredible story-based games that you have enjoyed? Comment down below and I may even try some myself!

Can't Stop Watching 'Sims 4' Videos!

Hey guys! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

So, as many people in my life know, I have quite an obsessive personality. In my experience, this means that, if I find something that I genuinely enjoy, I start to have a little obsession with it. It happens every time something Pokemon or Digimon related is released, it happened with Animal Crossing after playing as Isabelle in Smash, and it happens literally every time I see a glimpse of news from PQUBE, my current favourite game publishing company. Usually my obsessions are with actually playing a game, but this current obsession is actually with watching other people play a game, and that game is Sim 4.

So, I don't really have a lot of experience when it comes to the Sims franchise, but I have played Sims 3 a little bit and I used to play a lot of the free versions of Sims on my iPod touch a long time ago. More recently, I have discovered some really incredible Sims content creators on YouTube and I have been binging different SimTubers every day! Whether it be watching Gloom slay as Big Booty Judy, or LaurenZSide come up with amazing, YouTube-related content, I am utterly obsessed with the idea of being able to create your own world and getting out of reality, and seeing other people do exactly that.

Watching all these videos have made me want to actually invest in Sims 4 and some of the really amazing expansions I have seen, and that is really exciting to me. I want to create the life I have been striving for for a long time, and what better way than to do it in The Sims 4. In fact, I am so keen to do this, that I want to share the experience with all of you. Later this year, I want to start streaming my Sims 4 experience and really start becoming one with a Sim version of me and just really reach goals both inside the game and in reality.

If you enjoy The Sims series, stay tuned for more information on me streaming it later in the year! If you have any ideas of what kinds of goals I should try to achieve in the game, let me know, as I want to enjoy and experience every aspect of the game!

Have a nice day!

'Catherine' is a Masterpiece

Hey guys! It's your lad here again, Galaxy Gaymer!

So, I know there are many people that thoroughly enjoy playing the widest variety of games possible, and I am kind of one of those people, but with a twist. You see, I am kind of a genre-surfer of sorts when it comes to which game I am infatuated to. One week I may be obsessed with first-person shooters, next week I may be all about that simulation life. Lately, my obsession has lead me to a realm and genre that I had not previously investigated, and that is puzzle games. I know to some, this may sound like the single dullest type of game imaginable, and you might think I am a little tasteless. But the truth is, one game in particular and created this excitement towards these types of games, and that game is a game all the way from 2011 that I have only recently discovered, that game is Catherine.

Catherine is this really addictive story-line-based puzzle game with a hint of horror that is all about a man, Vincent, who must choose whether to stay with his long-term girlfriend Katherine, or to give in to the temptation of the seductive Catherine and cheat on his beloved girlfriend. One of the main points of this game is answering questions in a confessional booth in which will decipher whether your intentions are good and evil, all while completing various challenging puzzles in which you must get from point A, to point B.

Now, I may have only discovered the existence of this game a little over 2 weeks ago, but there is no doubt in my mind that I wish I had known how incredible it is a LONG time ago. This game has everything I believe a puzzle game should have. The engrossing story will have you immediately drawn to the lives of the protagonist and all of his decisions, leaving you wondering what will happen next, the two different art styles are both terrifying and beautiful in their own individual ways, and of course the levels, no matter what difficulty you are to choose, will challenge you just enough to give you that huge sense of achievement upon the completion of each one.

I truly believe this game could be enjoyed by so many people of different demographics, and I personally wish I knew of this masterpiece so much earlier. The 10+ hours I spent on my first play-through on the Easy difficulty of the game not only drew me in, but it cemented the game into not only one of the best games I am yet to play this year, but this game may truly and honestly be one of the greatest games I have played in my entire life. So, do yourself a favor and go play this game. It is almost a steal at $30AUD on the Xbox store, but you could also get a physical copy for a bargain anywhere (which I will also be doing) and if you are not too keen on getting a game that was released so long ago, I'd say definitely get your hands on a copy of Catherine: Full Body upon its release in September this year. The special edition looks amazing and I may even have to just bite the bullet and invest in a Playstation 4, just for this game and many other amazing ones!

What is a game that you have had an instantaneous infatuation with? I'd love to hear about some and maybe even check them out for myself!

Have a nice day!

'Gal*Gun 2' Is Everything

Hey guys! It's your lad here, Galaxy Gaymer.

I recently have been watching a lot of videos about different games, but one in particular that had caught my eye for a long time is a first-person shooter, Gal*Gun 2. For so long I had seen a couple of friends putting lots of hours into this game, people talking about how awesome, yet hilarious it is. So, I decided to get myself a physical copy of the game for my Switch!

My first experience of playing this game EXCEEDED expectations! I knew that it really pushed the envelope with the kinds of things that can be put into a game released in Australia, and I am really impressed by that. The game starts pretty immediately and it the controls are pretty basic so I have had no trouble adapting to how to play the game. Although, I did change some of the controls to make it more like the kinds of games I play, just because it almost feels wrong shooting with A.

The storyline of this game is kind of everything. It's all about getting rid of the demons within the school that are taking over the high school students and teachers body's by shooting them with a pheromone gun and sucking in the demons like a tornado or a vacuum. I really think this game is the perfect game for a gamer who likes things just a little bit risque, but also love a laugh and an entertaining game. I must also say, the DLC looks absolutely amazing and I can't wait to start buying each and every pack, just so I can keep changing the outfits of the characters.

What are some games that you enjoy that really push the envelope? Let me know and it may be one of my next reviews!

Have a nice day!
