Goodbye Overwatch

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

All good things must come to an end, even our favourite games. It can be such a bittersweet feeling, but sometimes it's necessary. The end of a game is just like the end of an era, and hopefully the next era is just as magical and exciting. Today was definitely the end of an era that we all hold in our hearts.

Overwatch is probably one of the first online PVP games I have ever played. I remember when it first got it, I was so excited to see what all the fuss was about. When I played my first match, I knew this game was going to be a huge part of my life as a gamer. But now, the era has come to an end.

Overwatch 2 is about to come out, which is super exciting. There's some amazing new characters and all kinds of new things happening. While this is highly anticipated, it's a little bittersweet too. Yes, they can let us keep our cosmetics from the first Overwatch, but in some ways, it will never hold the same place in player's hearts. I don't mean that in a negative way, more in a sentimental way.

Overwatch 2 is the start of a new era, and I feel like most of us are definitely ready to embrace that. Yes, a lot of us are a little sad about the original game already being gone, but there are so many memories that so many of us had. I for one haven't been this excited for a game in a long time, and I can't wait to put so many hours into the new game. In the best way, I will be thinking of all the memories of the first Overwatch and making new ones.

Far Too Excited for 'Forever Skies'

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

The survival genre has got to be one of the most unique and versatile genres around. That being said, it can be really difficult to find a game that stands out among the rest within this genre. Well, this upcoming 2022 game definitely made a positive first impression on me with its current demo.

Forever Skies is a beautiful sandbox survival game with lots of adventures elements. This game takes place after a global ecological disaster on Earth, and you decide to revisit it and explore it years later. The main aim of the game is to build and customize your own high-tech airship that serves as a home, workshop, laboratory and more for you. Another large part of this game is to scan and gather resources from the surrounding debris on Earth.

First thing's first, the graphics of Forever Skies are just so beautiful. I instantly fell in love with this game, and I truly knew this would be one for my list later in the year. While the demo itself only went for 45 minutes which flew by crazily fast, I know for a fact that I need this game in my life. It's quite fascinating learning all the ins and outs of this game, but all while not being too confusing to grasp the concept of.

This game will be perfect for survival game lovers. While we don't know super extensive details of it yet, the seed has definitely been planted and intrigued me from the second I even laid eyes on it. This game may be set to be one of the best games of 2022 if the rest of the game is anything like the demo. It's just phenomenal.

What is your favourite type of survival game? Comment down below! A huge thank you to Far From Home for sending me a copy of this demo! I love this game so much already! Also, make sure you all go wishlist this game down below and give this game the love it deserves!

Cozy Graphics, Adrenaline and Stress, that's 'Tip Top Don't Fall'

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

Multi-tasking is hard. I'm not going to sugar-coat it. I am maybe one of the worst multi-taskers in my everyday life, let alone when I'm game. Some games have really terrible ways to implement multi-tasking, and other games implement it really well. Today's game has done the latter.

Tip Top: Don't Fall is a rock-climbing game where you have to try to climb different mountain faces, all while if you fall one time, you die and have to start over. You need to essentially use both hands on your controller at different times and make sure your hands work together. It takes a lot of thinking, but you definitely get the hang of it after a little while.

While I do love the art style of this game, it almost tricks you in a way. What looked like a cozy game turned into a stressful game filled with adrenaline, and this is by no means a bad thing. I loved the contrast between the art and the gameplay, especially when I could enjoy its beauty as it challenged me to use my controller like I would probably never have imagined using it. There were plenty of abilities to help however, as long as there was enough stamina left to use them.

I recommend Tip Top: Don't Fall to gamers who needs a little bit more of a challenge in their lives. While this game starts of somewhat tame, it quickly gets difficult and makes you really anticipate your next move. However, with the really reasonable price, I still think anyone should try it out. It could be their next favourite game.

What is the most difficult game you have ever played? Comment down below! Also, a huge shoutout to Sometimes You for sending me a code for this game! It's greatly appreciated!

Have a nice day!

'Witchcrafty' is Simply Stunning

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

There has been a huge boost in the metroidvania market lately, and I am definitely not complaining. While some may call it oversaturated, I call it a treasure trove of possibilities. While some characteristics are almost a given in metroidvanias, the most important thing has definitely got to be to make sure your game stands out among the rest. Today's game has definitely achieved that.

Witchcrafty is a beautiful metroidvania platformer where you play a little witch who essentially needs to explore the magical world around her and decipher and fix what is wrong with the world. In order to do this, you will come across all types of creatures such as predatory plants within the forest. Like any amazing platformer, you also get to collect all types of things along the way such as coins and crystals.

First of all, this game is absolutely stunning. Like, seriously, I can't remember the last time I played such a beautiful metroidvania, but this one just blew me away. And the music was both new and fresh, but also reminiscent of some of the all-time greatest games of the genre. I just love this game more than words can explain, and I finished it like many games, in one setting. It was difficult, but not impossible.

I won't compare this game to the games it shares some similarities with. Instead, I'll just say that anyone that has played and enjoyed a metroidvania with a really nice story needs to play this. I have not felt so refreshed by a metroidvania in a long time, but Witchcrafty certainly did the trick. This game comes to Nintendo Switch on October 13th, so I highly recommend everyone grabs it.

What is your favourite metroidvania? Comment down below! Also, a huge thank you to PigeonDev for sending me a code for this game, and of course my friends at Sometimes You for publishing this game on Switch!

'RIN: The Last Child', Game of the Year 2023?

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

The metroidvania genre can be quite a niche genre when it comes to gaming. A lot of metroidvanias seem to blend in and be too similar too each other, so it can be really hard to find one that is unique. But today, we have a metroidvania treat to talk about.

RIN: The Last Child could easily be compared to so many other metroidvanias, but there's just so many ways in which is stands out among the rest and becomes its own incredible game. Although I have only played the demo so far, I can already confirm that this game is now one of the titles I am most excited for in 2023. The goal is to rediscover your powers and create spells while playing as Rin, a demigoddess who needs to save the world.

First of all, the soundtrack to this game so far is just so beautiful. When I first loaded it up, I just sat there for a good few minutes' listening to it and relaxing. The soundtrack compliments what, in my opinion, is the main attraction, the absolutely stunning graphics of this game. The art style is just so beautiful, and I instantly knew I was going to be in love with this game.

I recommend RIN: The Last Child to both metroidvania veterans and beginners alike. This game may be insanely beautiful, but it is also quite difficult, and I found myself having to try everything a few times like any good game in the genre. Like I said, this game is incredible, and I truly can't wait until its full release in 2023. It's one to keep an eye out for.

What do you think the most beautiful metroidvania game is? Comment down below! Also, a huge thank you to Space Fox Games for a review copy of the demo for this game! I loved it and I am so excited to play it when it is released!

'Neko Journey', The Perfect Mix of Beauty and Challenge

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

Platformers are by far one of the most beloved types of games, no matter what type of platformer you like. But you know what goes perfectly with a platformer? Beautiful waifus. And today's game definitely catered towards that.

Neko Journey is an action-adventure platformer where you follow a path created by a wizard to rescue kidnapped creatures. The areas are all timed, and there are a number of abilities that you are able to use within the levels. You also collect coins along the way in order to rebuild the village the wizard has essentially destroyed.

The style of this game is absolutely stunning, and I instantly fell in love with the sheer beauty of each level. It was the perfect mix of beauty and challenge, and I played it all in one sitting without any desire to move from my seat. The general atmosphere of this game in general is absolutely brilliant, and the speedrunner in me feels the need to run it asap.

I think this game is perfect for people who are looking for a platformer but don't want to play anything too hardcore. I think this game is brilliant, all without being too long or too stressful. The makers of this game definitely knew what they were doing with this one.

What is your favourite platformer? Comment down below! Also, a huge thank you to Axyos Games for sending me a key for this game! It's far too beautiful!

'First Time In Paris', the Adventure that Rejuvenated Me

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

Point and click games feel really underrated in the current world of gaming. What once was such a beloved and popular genre has quickly become almost forgotten and lacking in new games. Well, that was until today's game came out.

First Time In Paris is an incredible hidden object point and click game based in Paris as you can imagine. The story is that you are a travel blogger who has her first opportunity in Paris, and you need to find hidden objects with a lot of really fun mini games within your journey. There are 22 chapters, and even some equally amazing bonus chapters if you complete the main campaign.

Although it feels like your average point and click game, I feel like First Time In Paris brings a unique beauty to the genre. The art was absolutely stunning, and I managed to play it in one sitting when I started it. This is complimented so well by the milk difficulty of the game, and of course the incredible visuals it has. This game just felt so cozy throughout the entirety of my playthrough of it.

I highly recommend First Time In Paris for pretty much anybody that loves to travel the world in any way. I personally played this game in handheld mode on my Nintendo Switch, and it felt like it was made to play like this. I think anybody can find some enjoyment out of it, as it's so simplistic in concept, but also incredibly beautiful at the same time.

What is your favourite point and click game? Comment down below! First of all, a huge thank you to Ocean Media LLC for giving me a copy of this game to review, it has rejuvenated my desire to write on this blog so much, and I appreciate it so much. Also, a huge thank you to you guys, the viewers. I have had a messy time with my mental health the past month or so that has caused me to step back from writing for a bit, and you guys stayed, and that means the world. Thank you so much.

Have a nice day!
