'Leif's Adventure: Netherworld Hero', The Game To Watch

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

There's something that instantly grabs me about a good story-driven game. I love getting lost in a great narrative, and just escaping reality, even if only for a short time. I also love when the story is unique and stands out among other games of their type.

Leif's Adventure Netherworld Hero is an incredible 2d adventure game that currently has a demo to play on Steam. It follows a character named Leif that needs to fight through a number of monsters and explore with the help of a blue ghostlike creature. You can even play it with a friend, which makes the game even more impressive.

The demo for Leif's Adventure Netherworld Hero is actually quite extensive surprisingly. Right when you think you are finished with the demo, there is more. I really adore the art style of this game; it is beautiful to look at. I also love that the developer has themself in the game, that is such a nice touch that made me super happy as they deserve a lot of credit for what they have created so far.

Leif's Adventure Netherworld Hero is really difficult, but I found that to be the main appeal of the demo. I think this game will be perfect for lovers of the platformer genre, and I really can't wait to play the final product when we are blessed with it. I think this could be one of the best games of this type we see this year. Keep an eye out for it.

What game are you looking forward to the most later in the year? Comment down below! Also, a huge thank you to OneManOnMars for sending me a code for the demo on Lurkit! I'm so glad you did as I love it so much!

Have a nice day!

'BookyPets Legends', Perfect to Help the Little Ones Read

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

There's something so satisfying about when you get to collect things in an adventure driven game. Not only do you get to enjoy the story itself, but it encourages you to search every nook and cranny in order to find everything. This generally also means you have a new appreciation for the game, as it allows you to experience every single aspect of it.

BookyPets Legends is an adventure game where you need to explore and collect throughout your adventure. It is aimed towards children aged 7 to 12 and is supposed to encourage them to read. This is done by giving the player regular questions based on reading and comprehension. Every time you get questions correct; you get rewarded.

BookyPets Legends definitely has a simplistic art style, but due to the aim of the game this works really well. The game is really easy to navigate, and I imagine it would be really easy for a child to understand, all while making them work for it. There are more than 50 BookyPets to rescue and so many readings to do as you progress too, so there is no lack of gameplay.

I believe BookyPets Legends is perfect for the little ones in your life to learn reading and comprehension. Although it's educational, it makes reading a really fun experience. I think it could also be perfect for adults that are challenged in those ways, as there is no reason for them to feel ashamed, and it could still be a fun time for sure.

What is your favourite educational game? Comment down below! A huge thank you to DevilishGames for sending me a review copy of the game! I appreciate it!

'Sushi Bar Express', a Sushi Simulation Done Right

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

I love sushi. It is my favourite food of all time, and I love pretty much any type of media that is made in relation to it. Hell, some of the most addictive management simulator games have been about making your own sushi, and I am just obsessed with the concept in general.

Sushi Bar Express is a strategy sushi bar simulation game where your need to strategize in order to be as successful as possible. You need to make a variety of sushi in order to stand out among the rest, and you need to do it as fast as you can. This is all done in a stunning comical style, and it instantly grabs the attention of the player.

The style of Sushi Bar Express is absolutely beautiful. The comic-style characters are absolutely adorable, and it just grabbed my attention and affection so quickly and made me love this game even more than I initially thought I would. The gameplay is easy to understand, yet fast paced, and I just found myself entranced in it for literal hours upon my first time playing it. This is a sushi simulation done right.

I recommend Sushi Bar Express to simply everyone. It is not your ordinary restaurant management sim, it is extremely charming and lighthearted, but gives you a decent level of challenge when it needs to. This is absolutely the best game of its kind I have played in a very long time.

What is your favourite food related simulation game? Comment down below! Also, a massive thank you to Funbox Media for sending me a review copy of the game! It's much appreciated!

'Psychiatrist Simulator', an Odd Gaze into Reality

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

I feel like nowadays there can be a simulation game for just about anything. Some can feel mega realistic, some feel like a fun take on reality, and some can be a little bit strange in the best way. The strange ones stand out to me the most, as they're not TOO real, but real enough for us to get the general jist.

Psychiatrist Simulator is a strange, but pretty realistic simulation of, you guessed it, being a psychiatrist. You get to be a psychiatrist for two weeks, and you get to work through fourteen different clients in the duration of that time. Each client is pretty different, and you have to pick the most suitable prompts for the situation. You are the one who diagnoses each client and decides what treatment they will need.

Psychiatrist Simulator is somewhat realistic, but not intimidatingly so. The graphics are rather odd, but if anything, that kind of adds a certain charm and appeal to them game. I really like that it doesn't tip-toe around the topic of the game, and it makes it at least as realistic as this type of game can be without being too triggering. I would love to see either a sequel or more content to this game someday.

Psychiatrist Simulator is a pretty niche game, but I think anyone with a fascination in the field could find enjoyment in it. This game was clearly worked on very hard by the devs, and it's so inexpensive, so it's a win regardless. I think it's extremely well made and a realistic, yet a little bit odd look into a very real reality.

'ONI: Road to be the Mightiest Oni' is Insanely Charming

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

There's just something about an underdog story that I love when it comes to games. Not only can it give hope to those who are living their own real life underdog story, but it feels like the games make you work harder towards the outcome, thus making it feel all the more rewarding when you do get there. Story is everything, and this type of story never tends to feel too dry.

ONI: Road to be the Mightiest Oni follows Kuuta, a young Oni that has recently lost a fight with a much stronger Oni by the name of Momotaro, where he simultaneously lost everything. Kuuta needs to travel to another island in order to gain strength in order to defeat Momotaro, all with the help of his partner Kazemaru. You start off with a basic weapon and slowly have more abilities, including using Kazemaru to your advantage which was a really neat addition.

The art style of ONI: Road to be the Mightiest Oni is charming to say the least. Even though the actual premise of the game may sound a little bit grim and gory, but it's super cute, and the combat itself is super unique while being easy to understand. I found myself getting lost in the beautiful settings, and admiring the adorable characters, all while grinding slowly and just simply enjoying the game.

With how uncomplicated it is, I believe ONI: Road to be the Mightiest Oni is the perfect starting point for someone wanting to get into an adventure game. It's not filled with gore, and it just seems a lot friendlier to a slightly younger audience than usual. I also do believe that any age could enjoy the intense, yet still heartwarming story, as it is so well written.

'Ultimate Zombie Defense', An Addictive Top-Down

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

There's something so unique about come developers making a good old top-down game these days. While the genre may seem busy with new releases at times, it seems to be evolving more and more as we all do. I find these games to be some of the most iconic that are around. I love to experience them and be in awe with how far they have truly come.

Ultimate Zombie Defense is a top-down survival, co-op, zombie, horror game. The game is set in a formerly quiet place in continental Europe that has been surrounded by a zombie outbreak, as well as the surrounding 250 kilometers. In order to combat this, you have to use various weapons and do base-building to work to your advantage.

I really love the style of Ultimate Zombie Defense. I really adore both the top-down perspective and the actual style of the game itself. It's somewhat realistic, but not eerily realistic so it's not hard to look at like this type of game often is. I also think the base-building mechanics are just in-depth enough to be my favourite part of the game to focus on, as per usual.

I think Ultimate Zombie Defense is perfect for those who are looking for their new top-down addiction. I sat playing this game for hours, and I wouldn't have had it any other way. It just manages to grab the player so quickly, and it embodies the "one more game" state of mind so much. I think it's one to keep an eye on for sure.

What is your favourite top-down game? Comment down below! Also, a huge thank you to Terror Dog Studio for sending me a copy of the game to review, I appreciate it a lot!

'House Builder', A Must Have Construction Game

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

It goes without saying that one of my favourite gaming genres has to be any type of building game. They just feel like the most positively therapeutic types of game, and I just lose myself in them for hours on end. I also think they can be the best games to just zone out to and forget about the real world a little bit while playing them.

House Builder is a phenomenal new game where you do construction by yourself. You start of with some very basic building styles such as mud bricks, and you work your way up to some massive, modernized buildings. As your jobs get more complex, so do your tools. The jobs are also not limited to just one place, but all over the world.

In my opinion, House Builder is leaps and bounds ahead of its competition in terms of mechanics. The game in general just feels so smooth and easy to play. I love that you get to have more complicated tools and mechanics the more you progress, and it was just the kind of relaxing game that I needed in my life for sure. I think this one is a must have. I also look forward to seeing what else they will do in the future with this game, or even if there will be more games in the future, maybe a sequel?

House Builder is perfect for those gamers who just want to feel like their progress means something in one of these construction games. Sometimes levels seem so cut and paste in these games, but House Builder does not have this issue. I love that it seemingly rewards your progression and makes everything more advance instead of essentially giving you easy mode like other games have and would. As seen above, the characters are also very nice to look at... I am a fan. Woof.

What is your favourite building game? Comment down below! Also, a huge thank you to Free Mind SA for sending me review copies for this game on multiple platforms! I aprpeciate it!

'Hellstuck: Rage with your Friends', the Most Accurate Name I've Come Across

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

There's just something about a rage inducing game that can hit different in the best way. Don't get me wrong, it's really easy to get frustrated and abandon a game for being hard, but it's an amazing feeling when you stick to it and succeed. Some of these games give such an amazing sense of accomplishment when you even finish a small portion of them. Add being able to play these games with you friends, and it's just a good time in general.

Hellstuck: Rage with your Friends is an incredible new precise platformer where you literally start in Hell itself and work your way up through the nine circles of Hell. As you can probably tell by the name, you can play this game online with friends. A single mistimed or misplaced jump can send you all the way back to the beginning.

Hellstuck: Rage with your Friends is an absolute blast. I knew from the beginning it would be insanely difficult, but being able to play it with others almost made the pure rage towards this game worth it. I was hooked and just felt the need to do better than everyone else. I also love the simplistic art style Hellstuck: Rage with your Friends has, it is so charming. In general, the game is insanely well made.

I think Hellstuck: Rage with your Friends is the perfect party game to play with as many of those online friends we know and love as possible. It was such a genuinely fun game to play, and I think it would really bring out the lighthearted banter we all know and love. It is simply an absolute bargain of a game that I think anyone could enjoy.

What is your favourite game that brings out the banter with friends? Comment down below! A huge thank you to Terror Dog Studio for sending me a review copy of the game! I appreciate it a lot!

'Kao the Kangaroo', A Visit From an Old Friend

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

There's nothing quite like a platformer, let alone a platformer from a franchise being reignited. When a franchise returns, it's just like an old friend appearing out of nowhere, and you can talk as if you had only seen each other the day before. It is truly one of the most serotonin filled feelings.

Kao the Kangaroo is a brilliant 3d platformer revival of the series of the same name. It follows a very bubbly Kangaroo named Kao (woah, that's the name of the game) who wants to find out what has happened to his father. There's multiple amazing collectibles and worlds, and I feel like it has all the aspects of the greatest platformers of all time.

First of all, I will preface, I knew from the second I saw Kao the Kangaroo that I was going to fall in love with this game. It has all the features that myself and so many platformer lovers have come to know and love. The characters are so charming, the levels are beautiful, and in general the gameplay is an absolute blast. It feels like there are a lot of 3d platformers in this day and age, but this one is exactly what I needed to scratch that itch. I love the base game so much, and I can not wait until the day I can get the DLC.

Kao the Kangaroo is a perfect starting point or even returning point for lovers of the platformer genre. It's so beautifully made and is extremely charming. Not only is Kao the Kangaroo amazing, but it's so reasonably priced, and on all major platforms, that you can have that nostalgic feeling with a new friend. This game is amazing, and I can't wait to see what lies in the future for it.

What is your favourite 3D platformer? Comment down below! Also, a MASSIVE thank you to Tate Multimedia for the review copy of the game. I literally got emotional when I saw it on Lurkit, and I am eternally grateful for you guys trusting me.

'Alice Gear Aegis CS: Concerto of Simulatrix', the Battle Arena I Didn't Know I Needed

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

There's something just so beautiful about a good old arena game. These types of games seem to stand the test of time so much, and even the newest of entries in the genre are welcome with open arms. No matter what perspective or dimension they are created in, these games just truly call out to me.

Alice Gear Aegis CS: Concerto of Simulatrix is a brand-new 3D battle arena game with some visual novel elements. Vice has taken over the world and it is the player's job to take it back. There is a large variety of team mates to choose from that all possess different skill sets. You can also customize the characters to make them look even cuter.

To say the characters in Alice Gear Aegis CS: Concerto of Simulatrix are adorable is an understatement. Every single character in this game is best girl. I fell so instantly in love with the game as a whole that the DLC slipped into my cart shortly after playing. The action is hard hitting, but I didn't feel overlwhelemed, and the visual novel elements were utilized so well for the cutscenes.

I recommend Alice Gear Aegis CS: Concerto of Simulatrix for lovers of the battle arena genre and lovers of all things kawaii. This game was generally just a pleasure to play, and I instantly fell in love with it. I would love to see a sequel in the future bug obviously for now I just love Alice Gear Aegis CS: Concerto of Simulatrix as it is.

What is your favourite arena game? Comment down below! Thank you so much to PQube Limited for sending me a review copy of the game! The game was wonderful, just like all the games you guys release, I'm a huge fan!

'Tents and Trees', A Challenging Delight

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

There's something so fun and sometimes therapeutic about a relaxing puzzle game. Generally, puzzle games are the most versatile genre of game that can be enjoyed by multiple demographics. This also makes the genre accessible to both gamers and non-gamers.

Tents and Trees is heavily influenced by some really incredible classic puzzle games, and originated as a mobile game, but was ported to the Nintendo Switch recently. This game is very similar to Picross where you need to place tent and tree blocks on a table of spaces. As you progress with the game, it gets more difficult, and the grids get bigger.

I found Tents and Trees to be a challenging delight to play. The general atmosphere of the game is so beautiful, and it was both contrasting and majorly complimentary to the sheer level of challenge it possesses. There was just something so relaxing about working through each puzzle, and even the most challenging ones tend to be still so much fun.

I recommend Tents and Trees to those gamers who just need a relaxing game in between all the chaos. It is such a lovely experience to play, and it is insanely friendly for people who are not used to games like this. I feel like anyone could find enjoyment in it for sure.

'Whisker Squadron: Survivor', an Arcade Shooter Made with Love

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

There's something about a good old arcade styled game that just feels so natural to play. These games bring that level of nostalgia that so many of us crave regularly, and sometimes they can even be some of the best and most underrated games on the market. These games are addictive in the best way.

Whisker Squadron: Survivor is an amazing roguelike arcade style shooter where the aim is to fight off waves of enemies that are bugs with cats as your main fighters. The cats are in space fighter ships, and you get to upgrade and improve your abilities as you go to get stronger. Although it sounds super easy and straightforward, it really isn't, and that's why I loved it.

I found Whisker Squadron: Survivor to be quite charming for what it is. Although the fighting itself could be a little overwhelming at times, that was always overshadowed by the sheer simplistic yet beautiful style in which the game has been made. This game clearly had a lot of love put into it, and it shows because it was truly a pleasure to play from the very first second I launched it.

Whisker Squadrons: Survivor is the perfect game for all arcade shooter lovers. I found myself just fully lost in this game until 100%ing it, and I have absolutely no regrets at all. It was such a fun experience to work my way through, and I just couldn't recommend it enough. This is a must have.

What is your favourite arcade style game? Comment down below! Also, a huge thank you to Flippfly for sending me a copy of the game to review! It's much appreciated!

'Otherwar', a Fresh Take on Tower Defense

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

There's something about chaos in gaming that is so necessary. Some of the best games are as amazing as they are because they bring this beautiful level of chaos that can make us entranced. These games almost give us a much-needed adrenaline or energy boost at times, and that's why they amazing.

Otherwar is an incredible game that is a cross between a tower defense and bullet hell. You have to play the role of a defender angel who needs to fight the hordes of enemies from hell. Although you can use many different options to fight against the hordes, the angel itself can also fend off the enemies.

While Otherwar may sound a little confronting at first, having to use elements from both tower defense and bullet hell is a lot smoother than expected. I feel like overall it's a super chaotic game, but it is just so quickly addicting. I also absolutely love the style of the game; it easily makes the game both more approachable and just generally comfortable to play.

I recommend Otherwar for tower defense lovers specifically. I feel like the addition of more than just the average tower defense mechanics is so refreshing and welcome. It feels like such a fresh take on both genres it covers, and I found myself playing countless hours of it this past month. This is a must have.

What is your favourite tower defense game? Comment down below! Also, a huge shoutout to Hyperstange for sending me a copy of the game to review! I had a lot of fun with this one!
