My Opinion on 'Hogwarts Legacy'

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer

Cancel culture is hot and heavy in this day and age. Some pretty extreme people will cancel you and shame you for liking certain things, even if you're an adult who has every right to make those decisions. One of the most recent times that has everyone divided is Harry Potter, or more specifically JK Rowling. This has lead to a lot of mixed and intense feelings towards the upcoming Hogwarts Legacy game, but I have my own opinion on the situation.

When it comes to the wizarding world, not many franchises have been so imperative to so many of our childhoods, but this has unfortunately been overshadowed by the pretty controversial opinions of the creator of that world, JK Rowling. While I totally understand people's reasoning for boycotting the franchise, I think it's still very important to create and maintain our own personal opinion's, instead of hating stuff because it's trendy. It can be easier said than done, but at the end of the day it is your decision what you do and don't do.

I don't want to ruffle anybody's feathers in any way, but here is my personal opinion. I personally will probably be playing Hogwarts Legacy, and while not everybody will be okay with that, at the end of the day I'm okay with it. I, like many other people, grew up with the Harry Potter franchise whether it's the books, films or games, and it will always hold a special place in my heart. I feel like I'd be letting myself down if I chose not to get this game just because of other people's opinions.

Visually, this game looks phenomenal so far. Honestly it looks like everything so many of us hoped for before this JK Rowling drama came to light, and I am insanely excited for its release. And yes, while she will probably be making some kind of money out of it, so will the team behind the game that has probably worked tirelessly on making a game that people will love. Again, while I understand why people are against this game and franchise in general, I also think we need to make our own decisions as we are free to have our own opinions. While I potentially won't get in people's faces about playing this game, I'm just ready to enjoy the experience.

My Silly Opinion on Scarlet and Violet So Far...

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer

A new Pokemon game is almost always the most anticipated game of any given year there's a new one released. In saying that, the opinions definitely seem to differ so much every time. Some people will have nothing but problems with anything new Pokemon throws at them, others will absolutely love everything that we get. Well, I'm definitely one of these two people.

A new Pokemon game to me is like a present I've been waiting for patiently that never truly disappoints me. Sure everything is breakable, but sometimes the enjoyment is the main factor. When a new Pokemon game is released, I am always excited. It doesn't matter how much we know, whether we know everything or nothing, I just feel completely happy when we get a new Pokemon release. Scarlet and Violet are no exception to this.

We went from knowing next to nothing, to knowing a lot about these games literally overnight thanks to the August Pokemon Presents. For so long we only knew what eight Pokemon looked like in these new games, but now we know more Pokemon, more characters, and even new features that are unique to these games. I can understand how it's very overwhelming for some people, but at the end of the day the series is growing alongside its audience that have followed it their whole lives, all while being welcoming and accessible to trainers who are yet to embark on their journey. I am truly in awe of these games so far.

Where some people may not like the new designs of some Pokemon, I see new opportunities and challenges. Where some people are hesitant just because of new abilities and features, I see the beauty that we are about to experience. And where people seeing "nothing exciting enough to return to the series", I see all the excitement of a new region to lose myself in no matter what mood I may be in upon its release.

I know change can be oh so intimidating, but it can help us grow. Personally I see nothing to legitimately complain about with these new games, I only see things to be excited about and to celebrate. Whether you're going deep into the leaks (personally, I am not), or you're going head first into these games on release day knowing nothing or only what the trailers have shown us, I say we should give it a chance. Because we have waited so long for changes, and the same people saying they wanted changes are now complaining. So come November 18th, I think we should all ignore the negativity, sit back, and immerse ourselves into a whole new experience to create out own opinions.

How to Celebrate Your Birthday as a (Nintendo) Gamer

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer

Birthdays feel like a weird topic sometimes, especially when you're an adult. There's some uncertainty around what you can and can't do on the day that is socially acceptable, but nevertheless it can still be a wonderful day. Not everyone is a huge fan of their womb escape day, so they may not celebrate it at all. But, here is how you could celebrate your birthday if you're a gamer, especially a Nintendo gamer.

#1: Animal Crossing New Horizons

Animal Crossing New Horizons is fairly well known and beloved by this point, but one event that happens every year is just a cherry on top. The villagers birthday celebration. You see, based on the birthday you told your villagers when you started your save, they will come up to you on your actual birthday and take you to their house for an adorable surprise party. They then proceed to give you some cute little gifts and stuff to hand out to other villagers. It is so adorable, and I've loved it every year since the game has been released.

#2: Most Pokemon Games

Although it may be a smaller scale celebration, Pokemon definitely makes me smile when I go into Pokemon Centres on my birthday. There's this little confetti celebration on the screen and it is far too cute. When I first discovered this, it was because I'd received a Pokemon game on my birthday and I had no idea what I was in for, and ever since it has just warmed my heart so much.

As you may have guessed, today is my birthday! I am so grateful for all the amazing people who have supported me on my journey. Whether it's the journey of life, of any of my content creation journey's, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. I could not and would not be who I am or where I am if it wasn't for all of you wonderful people. Thank you all so so much for letting me be me.

Have a nice day!

5 Things I'd Love to See in the Pokemon Direct

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

With the Pokemon Direct being less than 24 hours away, there is a little bit of anxiety in the fandom. We know we'll for sure be seeing some news about Pokemon Scarlett and Violet, but otherwise we are basically going in blind for the most part. But have no fear, because I have five pretty possible suggestions on what we may be seeing in the Pokemon Presents right here.

#1: A Special Edition Switch OLED

This one is almost a given at this point, but I would love to see a special edition OLED released alongside the new games. I feel like the colours red and purple would be so cute, and I feel like it is a must by this point. Fingers crossed this happens for us.

#2: Pokemon Stadium on the Switch Online Expansion

I have always loved the Pokemon Stadium series, and I believe it would draw so many people in if it was added to the Switch Online Expansion. Between the graphics that have ages like a fine wine, and the amazing mini games have always been one of my favourite memories. I just feel like it's a no brainer to bring this to Switch in some way.

#3: Pokemon Quest Update

I know it's not the most popular spinoff game, but Pokemon Quest desperately needs an update of some kind. This game is criminally underrated, and I would love to see the Johto Pokemon added at least. There was something so charming about Pokemon Quest that just makes me heart so happy, but I do wish there was a little more to do in it.

#4: Let's Go Johto

I absolutely love the Johto region and the Johto games, and I just feel like a remake of any kind is always welcome. The Let's Go games were insanely good games in my personal opinion, and I think it would be a shame to not utilize the style more. I also think the region itself would be phenomenal in this form.

#5: New Mystery Dungeon Game

The Mystery Dungeon series is by far one of the best Pokemon spinoffs. Everything about these games always feels so refreshing and new compared to the average Pokemon game. I feel like the first Mystery Dungeon game on Switch was really amazing despite being a port, and I know so many players would happily buy more ports from the series.

5 Pretty Random Fortnite Collabs I'd Love to See

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

Fortnite has quickly become one of the biggest games in the world since Epic Games released it in July of 2017. This is in part because of the fun gameplay and the constant updates, but it's most of all because the cosmetics in Fortnite are like none other for the most part. In saying that, by this point there is no collaboration that is out of question. We've had DC, Marvel, Star Wars, famous streamers, other famous people and so many more collabs that have been amazing, but here are just 5 random Fortnite collabs I would personally love to see.

#1: Pokimane

I feel like it's long overdue for the influencer Pokimane to make her Fortnite skin debut. Afterall, she already has an emote in the game, and for so long she was one of the biggest content creators for the games. While she may not always be everyone's cup of tea, I just feel like a cute Poki skin would not only fit in well in Fortnite, but it could also be a top seller thanks to her millions of fans all over the world.

#2: Bella Poarch

Also fitting with the theme of already having an emote in the game, Bella Poarch's look would translate into an absolutely stunning skin if done right. There's just something about her doll-like style that could have countless possibilities, and thanks to her star power, this skin would without a doubt be a top seller in the item store.

#3: Pokemon

This one is a big wildcard on this list, much like all of the last three, but I think a Pokemon x Fortnite collab could be a beautiful thing. It could be absolutely any character, but I'd love to see an Ash Ketchum Fortnite skin with a Pikachu backbling and the emote possibilities are endless too. Truth be told, Fortnite would probably benefit from this more, but at the same time it could bring a whole new group of Fortnite players into the game for sure.

#4: Harry Styles

It goes without saying, Harry Styles is a very pretty man, and any form of collaboration with him would be gold, but I think Fortnite should look into bringing Harry in for another Rift Tour styled event. Just imagine how many people would play the game just to participate in this, and it would also expose people who aren't fans of him to some of his amazing music for the first time. It would be a win in my books.

#5: Poppy

Now, this one is probably a lot more bias because I am a huge fan of her, but I feel like a collaboration between Fortnite and Poppy would just be a lot of fun. Poppy has such a unique look, and I'd love to see what Epic is able to do in terms of a Poppy skin. This would also not be the first collaboration between Poppy and games, as we have already had Poppy's 'Flux' album listening party in Roblox, and she has appeared twice in the soundtrack of the WWE 2k series. I just think this could be a golden opportunity.

Who would you love to see Fortnite collaborate with? Comment down below! And make sure you're using code 'MrAddisonJones' in the Epic Games store to support me and my content!

'Freshly Frosted' is a Sweet Challenge

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

By far one of my favourite genres to play HAS to be food related games, especially if the food in question is sweet. It not only sometimes makes me have food cravings, but also makes me feel insanely calm and makes my brain far too happy. And you know what's better than just a food game? A food-based puzzle game.

Ever since I saw it on the Wholesome Direct, I knew I had to buy Freshly Frosted as soon as possible. It is a puzzle game where you have to create a path for the donuts to go through. Your path must pass through all of the different add-ons, such as frosting and sprinkles, and lead to the delivery area. This is all while there is a super calming voiceover talking to you, of which is of a person who is daydreaming about this donut shop you are running.

Freshly Frosted was by no means an easy game to play, but there was just something about the cozy visuals that kept drawing me in, not matter how much I struggled with levels. The atmosphere in general just made my brain so happy, and it made me crave not only a donut, but to play this game until the very end. The visuals are also so well complimented by the voiceover, as it feels like a calming, almost ASMR-esque voice.

I recommend this game for puzzle gamers and cozy gamers alike, as this game just has so much to offer, and is just pure bliss to play. Not everyone will be able to beat every puzzle, but the ability to skip puzzles and get a hint is a welcome addition to the game. I just feel so happy when I play this game, and you probably will too!

What is your favourite cozy game? Comment down below! Also a huge thank you to The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild for making such an incredible game!

10 Relaxing Games That Could Help Your Mental Health

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

Gaming is more often than not insanely good for our mental health. Even on the most anxiety-inducing days can be eased if we play certain games, and it really gives us that feeling of achievement to make days easier. So many games can help us experience that feeling, and here are just ten of those games.

Whether it's New Horizons, or any other game from the Animal Crossing franchise, it is truly one of the most relaxing games you can play. Even if real life is filled with stress, you can relax and do things for villagers or upkeep your island, just to make it feel like you have done something. Between the music and the general atmosphere, you can just lose yourself in Animal Crossing.

This won't make sense to everyone, but House Flipper has got to be one of the best games to minimize your thinking while playing. Whether you're cleaning a dirty house, painting walls or redecorating, it just feels so mind numbing in the best way. And the best part by far is cleaning up your own places to sell and continue flipping.

I could not recommend this one enough. Power Wash Simulator is the most stress free game you could play, and all you're doing is cleaning. The sound of everything washing will give you so much seratonin and help you zone out no matter what mood you are in.

I know I'm not the only one who feels this way, but Stardew Valley is one of my go-to games to mellow out to. It's so easy to just relax while playing this game. If you aren't too worried about following the main story, you can easily just spend as long as you want farming and harvesting crops, or doing tasks for the other people in town. This game is only as stressful as you make it.

Calico is the most confoict-free game I have ever played. It's simple, you just have to bake food for you cafe, pat the cute animals, hire the animals to your cafe, and complete simple tasks for the NPCs, it is pure bliss. The music and art style of this game is just so soft and beautiful. I just lose myself in its simplicity every time I replay it.

Gris may be an extremely emotional game, but its beauty is undeniable. The big thing about this game is there is no dialogue whatsoever. This allows the player to truly delve into it, and experience every single part of it as intended. The subtle music and art just allows you to ignore everything else in the world and simply focus on the minimalistic gameplay.

The Stillness of the Wind is such a hidden gem. It follows the story of an elderly person who is just living one day at a time on their small farm. Whether it's a day of cheese making, a day in the garden, or a day of rest, this game is so simplistic and can take you away from your normal life, even if it's just for one simple in-game day.

Pokemon in general may not be everyone's cup of tea, but New Pokemon Snap is a whole new cozy experience. The aim is simple, take pictures of your favourite Pokemon, and use items to get the best possible shot of them. Photography is a known stress relief method, and this game is no different aside from getting to stay at home for it. I highly recommend it to Pokemon fans and photographer lovers alike.

Abzu is one of the most stunning games I have ever experienced. It's essentially a swimming simulator and you just get to enjoy and take in the beautiful sight of the deep ocean. There's something so peaceful about Abzu, and this feeling that no other game could bring.

So imagine Pokemon without the battling, and add some farming and building elements, you now have Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles. This game is such a hidden gem that I only discovered due to recommendations from a friend and I have played it just to relax so many times since. This game is so calming, and I just love exploring the beautiful world and growing my own gardens.

What is a game that you play when your mental health is feeling off? Comment down below! And remember, it's okay to not be okay, and it's okay to accept help and seek out resources when you need.

Have a nice day, and stay safe ❤️
