10 Releases I am Super Hyped for in 2023

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

I feel like every time a new year arrives, my wallet hurts that little bit more. There are so many brilliant games, ports and DLCs to games every year, that it can get a little overwhelming. This is why I tend to at least pick a handful of amazing releases that I will definitely get my hands in every year, and here are 10 of them! I will preface though, these are all based on my personal opinion, and I am not including games that everyone else is excited for that I won't be getting. It's also in no particular order, however some games I am more excited about than others. Let's jump in!

#1: Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty (DLC)

Although the release of Cyberpunk 2077 was a bit of a mess, it has shown us all that even some of the most flawed games can be turned into a fan favourite. And with the recent success of Cyberpunk 2077 the game, and the incredible Edgerunners anime, we are getting some new DLC for the game in 2023. We don't know a lot about the DLC, but the trailer we have been shown looks brilliant. Sadly, for some of us, we can't enjoy the DLC on our current hardware due to it being new generation consoles only, but maybe it's one of many great reasons to splurge on something new for ourselves.

#2: Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Another game that is riding on recent success of its franchise has to be Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. The newest Avatar film was well received by fans and critics alike, and it just so happens that this game was announced around the same time. All eyes will be on this game in 2023, and if it is done right, it could be another huge success for the franchise. This has got to be one of the most anticipated games of the year, and we barely know anything about it. I am so excited to see what this game becomes.

#3: AEW: Fight Forever

AEW Fight Forever may be the game under the most pressure coming out in 2023. While many wrestling fans will love the game regardless, a lot of promises have been made for this game. I would love to see this game flourish and find the success that it deserves, but all eyes truly are on AEW Fight Forever as their rival gets ready for their next annual game release. I'm excited for this one, and am kind of grateful it's included on Game Pass upon release.

#4: Digimon World: Next Order (Port)

Sometimes, there's just nothing quite like a franchise having a game ported to more platforms for more accessibility for the fans. Digimon World: Next Order is probably one of the most beautiful games I have never played from one of my all-time favourite franchises. Years of debating whether I need a PS4 are finally put to rest now this amazing game is coming to Nintendo Switch and PC very early in 2023. I honestly can't wait to embark on this adventure.

#5: Minecraft Legends

Minecraft Legends may be the most unexpected spinoff we didn't know we needed. The second this was announced, there was quite a lot of confusion, but plenty of excitement at the same time. Minecraft, to this day, is one of the most successful franchises of all time, and it just keeps building up this amazing resume of new content, and amazing spinoffs. Minecraft Legends seems pretty straightforward, but that doesn't mean it won't probably be amazing to play.

#6: Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly

Coffee Talk may be one of the most amazing indie games off all time, and Part 2 is looking to live up to the same level of amazingness. We haven't seen tons of footage for this game, but we kind of don't need to. There's just something about this series in general that is so enticing, and it feels like they could do no wrong. I am so excited to see what they do with this new entry to the series in 2023.

#7: Hogwarts Legacy

Although Hogwarts Legacy is riddled with controversy, it doesn't change the fact that I am personally super excited to play this game. This game is everything any fan of the wizarding world has ever hoped for, and I can just see myself playing this game for hours on end and loving every second of it. It looks brilliant, and April can't come fast enough for older generation console owners like myself.

#8: Fire Emblem: Engage

Perhaps one of the earliest, but still one of the most exciting releases of 2023, Fire Emblem: Engage has so much potential, and I know even some of the most dedicated fans of the series can agree. This game will give us characters from many eras of the franchise's history, and it just simply looks incredible. This is one I can't wait to get my hands on as soon as release day is here.

#9: Star Wars: Jedi Survivor

When it is released, all eyes are truly on Star Wars: Jedi Survivor. This game has the challenge from day one of being the sequel to one of the greatest Star Wars games ever, but this doesn't stop it from already looking like a masterpiece in its own right. This game is already looking like it will be one of the best games of the year, and I can guarantee we will be talking about it for years to come following its release.

#10: Lollipop Chainsaw (Remake)

Lollipop Chainsaw is easily one of my favourite games of all time, and I almost literally cried the day it was announced that we are getting a remaster. There's just something about this game that gets me so hyped up and makes me feel so happy. Although remakes may not always be a good thing, I think this is one that is going to be welcomed with open arms. I can't wait to get this one the second it comes out in 2023.

My Top 5 Games of 2022

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

2022 was a surprisingly busy year for many of our favourite franchises in gaming. Some made their long-awaited returns, some had new additions, and some just improved beyond our wildest dreams. While there were so many, I still managed to pick just 5 that stood out the most to me personally, and here they are. But before I start, let me just remind you this is my personal list, and if you don't love games on this list, that is totally fine, I would love to hear about your favourite games of 2022! These are also in order of 5th best to 1st best for me personally. Let's jump in!

#5: Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars

I feel like not including this game in my list would have been an absolute crime. Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars is a crossover that fans of both series have been dying to have for years, and 2022 is the year this finally came to life. This game for me was a huge standout in both franchises' catalogues, and I feel like it just sets a beautiful example of how amazing a crossover can be.

#4: Digimon Survive

I feel like Digimon Survive is one of those games that we waited an eternity for, but for me it was totally worth waiting every second. I am a huge fan of the Digimon franchise, and this game is a perfect example of the franchise doing something that other franchises probably could never do. Digimon Survive may have been heavily criticized, but I truly think most of those people just didn't read anything about the game and assumed it would be your average turn-based RPG. This is a game I have adored since the first teasers were shown, and it did not disappoint when it was finally released.

#3: Sonic Frontiers

Now, I may sound a little old in a second, but apart from dabbling in Sonic Forces a while back and not touching it since, my last really Sonic game was Sonic Heroes. Although it may be completely different to any games of the franchise I have played, Sonic Frontiers may very well be one of the best games to be released in the entirety of the franchise's lifespan. This game is truly magnificent, has so much to collect and do, and there is going to somehow be even more added to it in the future which is insane to me. This is one people have underestimated, but I am so glad that I had the pleasure of playing this game thanks to an amazing friend who I love with all my heart, even without her spoiling the heck out of me.

#2: Pokémon Scarlet/ Violet

To say Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have been heavily criticized is an understatement. Long before they were even released, people were ready to hate on them with a closed mind, but you know what? I knew I would fall in love with them, and I did. These games have their flaws, but what games don't? Overall, these games have taken the beloved formula of Pokémon, and made it into a whole new experience, all while keeping the things we love. There's so much to do in these games, and the story is as deep as ever, I just fell in love with them instantly and could never imagine 2022 without them.

#1: WWE 2k22

I feel like most of the games I adored this year were heavily criticized, and honestly that's fine. WWE 2k22 is probably my most played game of the year, and I regret nothing. There's just something about the variety of things to do in this game that draw me in so much. I love every single mode in this game, especially My Faction, and I haven't even 100% the game's achievements yet. There's so much to do and I just love everything about it. And that's why it was an easy pick for the #1 spot this year.

What were your favourite games of 2022? Comment down below! 2022 is done and dusted, but maybe 2023 will hold some even more amazing things. Happy New Year and stay safe friends!

'Legendary Heroes' is a Must Have

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

There's something so satisfying about a well-made real-time strategy game. The best games that utilize this type of genre make the experience both action-packed and give you plenty of time to plan your next move. These games are also some of the best possible ones to pick up and play for either a short amount of time, or all night if you so desire.

Legendary Heroes is an amazing new real-time RPG and strategy game with MOBA elements where the goal is simple, protect your own towers, and destroy all enemies. This is all done with a rather decent array of 10 different heroes, all of which have their own strengths and abilities. You also get to maintain your progress and your team only gets stronger as you progress and gain various power-ups. This is all done throughout 30 amazing different maps.

Legendary Heroes is a brilliant example of a real-time game done absolutely right. This game was quite the grind, but the grinding quickly pays off and helps you progress further into the game. The graphics give a lovely 2000s charm with the graphics which I instantly fell in love with when I started playing it. I also just love that they used a big enough variety of heroes to keep it exciting, but not so many that it became overwhelming.

I highly recommend Legendary Heroes to lovers of the strategy genre that love games that use timeless mechanics. It may not be the most revolutionary game, but it feels special because it is still new, but uses so many things so many of us have grown to know and love. This game is also less than $10 and will easily take up many days of your time if you're anything like me.

'Doomed to Hell', A Roguelike Done Right

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

Roguelike games have got to be one of the most popular genres in recent years. Roguelikes can be some of the most iconic and timeless games to come across, and I feel like it would be really hard to go wrong with them. I also feel like some of the most challenging games have been roguelikes recently.

Doomed to Hell is an impressive new action-packed roguelike that is both difficult as hell, but also hours upon hours of fun. This game may look like your average top-down roguelike, but it is so much more. You play as Rose who has just died, and you have to battle your way out of hell by fighting enemies, looting and exploring all the different biomes. The more you loot, the more you are able to level up with all the coins you find.

Doomed to Hell is difficult to say the least. I found myself getting stuck in many sections, but that was all the more reason to keep going and levelling up everything. I love the combat style so much, and the game became quite addictive in the best way. I love the variety of biomes, and just generally the style of the game as a whole.

I recommend Doomed to Hell as both an entry point to the world of roguelikes, and a return to the genre. This game is truly an example of a roguelike done right. I lost myself in this game in the best possible way, and I just feel like so many other people would more than likely do the same. Do yourself a favor, buy Doomed to Hell.

What is your favourite roguelike game? Comment down below! Also, a huge thank you to QUByte Interactive for sending me a copy of this game to review! It's so good!

'Milli & Greg' is Adorable... yet Difficult as Heck

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

Platformers are one of the most versatile genres of game you could play at this point. Some are so easy and quick that they are for everyone, and then some can be insanely hard while still maintaining a little level of wholesomeness. I feel like as long as they have some kind of unique appeal, then they are going to be beloved by many.

Milli & Greg as an adorable platformer that is both as wholesome as they come in concept, but also difficult as heck. While the story itself doesn't stray far from overcoming challenges as the characters Milli (the human) and Greg (the cat), the platforming in this game is a whole other level. This game is insanely difficult, but it also feels very rewarding when you complete even a single obstacle. You get to do all of this while collecting an array of collectibles, which I find is one of the biggest appeals of the game, in the best way of course.

Milli & Greg is both charming with its graphics, and about as chaotic as possible. Like I said, there's this great feeling with overcoming even one obstacle, but it feels even better as you progress through more than 100 levels that you can just tell were lovingly put together and deeply thought out. The soundtrack for this game is also to die for. I found myself listening to it long after I had finished the game itself, it's just magnificent.

Milli & Greg is not for the faint of heart, but it is definitely for those fans of challenging platformers that are looking for their next challenge to conquer. This game is not the type of platformer you will finish in one sitting with ease, so you can guarantee a large amount of gameplay out of it from the get-go.

What is your favourite chaotic platformer? Comment down below! A huge thank you to my friends over at QUByte games for sending me this game to review! It's honestly so wonderful!

'Him & Her Collection' is a Must Have

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

Wholesome games are taking the world by storm. Some of the most popular games don't focus on action and fighting, they focus on all things adorable and relaxing. This has been the norm for a number of years, but it has been predominant in the gaming industry now more than ever.

The Him & Her Collection contains three games, all of which come from the adorably mind boggling Him & Her series. The aim of this game is simple, you need to reunite the two little characters while overcoming a variety of obstacles and mechanics. The games vary with whether you play Him or Her, but the gameplay itself in all three games is the same, but they get increasingly more difficult.

While the graphics of the Him & Her Collection may seem quite simplistic, I find this is what really adds the charm to these games. The challenge of reuniting the pair feels extremely wholesome, and the contrast of this from the difficult gameplay is a match that was truly made in heaven. I found myself personally saying "one more level" until finding myself finishing the games and moving on to the next, until I was suddenly finished with all of them.

The Him & Her Collection is the perfect wholesome puzzle game for people of all ages. There's just something so welcoming about this franchise that makes the player want more, and who doesn't love that feeling of achievement at the end of the day when you solve a difficult puzzle with critical thinking. I have always love the concept of this series, and it is utilized extremely well.

What is your favourite wholesome game? Comment down below! And a huge shoutout to QUByte for sending me review copies of this collection! I adore it and I really hope there is more games in the franchise in the future!

'Spin Time' is an Out of Body Experience

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

The word strange has become synonymous is recent years when it comes to gaming. Some games are so odd, and just so genuinely weird that they're just purely incredible. Sometimes, I dare say stranger games can be even better.

Spin Time is a quirky game where the goal is simple, you have to assist the strange little character, Horst, in becoming the fastest spinner in the world. To do this, all you have to do is find the little guy and press a button repeatedly to make him spin faster and faster each time. This is done in 5 different game modes, and there is even 2 live action cut scenes that we are blessed with in the game that are actually amazing.

The visuals of Spin Time are wonderful. Hoarst is a little bit strange to look at, but I feel like that adds to the charm of this game that feels like an out of body experience. The game may not be particularly hard, but it is quite a bit of lighthearted fun. I played it in one sitting, and I would probably do it again happily.

I think everyone needs to embrace Spin Time. There is no game like this currently in most people's library, but there truly should be. This game is about as unique as they come, and it's such a bargain. Press that purchase button, and get yours today.

What is your favourite quirky game? Comment down below! Thank you so much Dumb Video Ideas for sending me a copy of the game to review!

Embrace your Degenerate Side with 'Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Dry Twice'

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

Sometimes the best types of games are the ones that really push the envelope. These are the ones that stand out because they're so over the top, and usually made for adults' eyes only. These games hold such an interesting legacy and usually have a massive cult following. Today's game is able to do all the above with ease.

Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Dry Twice is an adventure game with lots of puzzles that follows Larry, as he tries to find his true love, Faith, on the island of Kalau'a. To find his true love, Larry must overcome many obstacles such as the untamed ladies of the island. This is all shown through a hand drawn art style that, much like the rest of the games of the series before it, are truly timeless.

Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Dry Twice is not exactly the type of game you want to play at church, or around your loved ones, unless you're a risk taker of course. There is just something about the pure absurdity of the game that just seems to call out to even the biggest gaming veterans. It is so many hours of mindless fun, all with the hidden beauty of 50 hand drawn locations, each one being even more lewd and beautiful than the last.

Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Dry Twice is perfect for those adult degenerates out there. The sexual references and images are made for the dirtiest of minds, and the humor is truly made for anyone who plays to just enjoy and have a good laugh at. This game, and even the Leisure Suit Larry series as a whole, is definitely one that should be on everyone's wishlist this holiday season.

'Josh Journey: Darkness Totems' is Difficulty Beautiful

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

There's just something about art style that can make or break a game. By far one of my favourite types of art styles definitely has to be when it's a hand drawn game. Thos doesn't just make the games stand out among the rest, but it also shows the pure talent that people who have worked on the game possess.

Josh Journey: Darkness Totems is an indie action-adventure game where the goal is simple, you need to control one of the four heroes and use their skills to beat up the bad guys, the Nightmare Monsters in order to save The Province World. This can be played co-op, and let me tell you, the co-op experience is where the real appeal is for this game. It's a thing of beauty.

Josh Journey: Darkness Totems is hugely challenging, and this is definitely not a bad thing. I feel like the contrast between the beautiful hand drawn art style, and the challenging gameplay itself, this game is truly a treat. Even though this game is insanely hard at times, I played it for a solid day and had an absolute blast.

I recommend Josh Journey: Darkness Totems to anyone that wants to play a game that is a combination of beautiful and difficult. This game is the type of game that can really quickly go from a casual game to a one you are unable to put down. But on the plus side, it's a lovely choice for a co-op game with friends.

What is your favourite game with a hand drawn style? Comment down below! A huge thank you to QUByte Interactive for sending me a review copy of this game! I am obsessed, it's so good!

'Chameneon', an Underrated Nostalgic Gem

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

2D platformers are one of the most, if not the most beloved genres of all time. There's just this nostalgia fueled adrenaline that comes with playing them, although it can be pretty difficult to find one that stands out among the rest. The game I'm about to talk about has no trouble achieving this.

Chameneon is an adorable 2D platformer where you control a chameleon, and you have to slide along bars to go from the beginning to the end of all 80 levels. By completing these levels, you are saving the Cyber Space from an infectious virus. As you progress with this game, every level becomes increasingly harder, and it makes it more difficult to gather the collectibles which consist of lightning bolts and floppy disks.

Chameneon is a deceptively difficult game, but that does not stop it from being a blast from beginning to end. It also goes without saying that the soundtrack to this game is truly a marvel, and hooks in the player even more. It feels like a cross between a futuristic styled game with quite nostalgic styled gameplay.

I recommend Chameneon for players of all ages. Although the nostalgia feeling isn't for everyone, this is a fresh take on it. This game is easily the type of game you can pick up and play piece by piece. While some players may be put off by the difficulty, other players welcome it with open arms. I truly believe this one is already to underrated, yet incredible.

What is your favourite 2D platformer? Comment down below! A huge thank you to QUByte Interactive for sending me multiple copies of this game to review. It was a lot of fun.

Revisit Nostalgia with 'Radical Rex (QUByte Classic)

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

Nostalgia is a pretty important thing to consider when developing and releasing games. I feel like it not only gives the younger generations something new to experience, but it takes long-time gamers back to a simpler time when done correctly. There's nothing quite like sitting down and mindlessly playing a nostalgic game and forgetting about the world.

Radical Rex (QUByte Classic) is an amazing 2D platformer that has just been released on modern consoles. This game oozes a nostalgic feeling that instantly draws the player in. It has ten amazing levels with a prehistoric theme, and even better, you get to be a tyrannosaurus rex riding a skateboard.

While Radical Rex may seem like just your typical old school platformer, it feels like so much more. The soundtrack really transports the player to a very reminiscent time. I for one played this game in full within one sitting, and let me tell you, it was 100% worth it, and I plan to do it again very soon.

I recommend Radical Rex to everyone; however, I feel like it's perfect for those who is searching for that taste of nostalgia so they can go back in time and forget about their troubles in the world. This game is also not very expensive, so it's an absolute steal for how amazing it is.

What is your favourite game that takes you back to a simpler time? Comment down below! Also, a huge thank you to QUByte Interactive for sending me a copy of the game to review! It's much appreciated!
