Games with a retro vibe are a necessity sometimes. We often find ourselves returning to a game if it is familiar, with a new feeling, and that's often something that can never fail us. It's that familiarity that is just so enriching and powerful that can make it hard to try something new. Today's game is no exception to this.
Upon discovering Stellatum, I felt this sense of nostalgia, but at the same time I could basically smell a new challenge. The screenshots I saw of this game gave me an Asteroid feeling, so I was instantly hooked. To start off, it can be really hard to beat a level if you are unsure what to do, but the more you play, the better you get, and the easier the levels become. The graphics of this game were simplistic, but epic enough to be unforgettable. The controls were also extremely smooth and there was no problem with launching and loading at all.
The levels and enemies in this game get harder the further you progress, but it isn't so impossible that you will give up and cry, it's hard enough to challenge you though. I highly recommend it for anyone that feels up for a challenge and loves retro-styled games. I admire how there's a decent amount of gameplay in this game, but also that you don't need to be a pro to complete every level, and for its price point, it's an absolute steal.
