Why I Believe Amouranth Is Amazing

Hey guys! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

Twitch is in a really interesting place at the moment. There are a lot of changes to what is the most popular, so it can be really hard to stay on top of all the new trends. I feel like this isn't necessarily a bad thing though, the amazing thing about Twitch is the huge variety of content you can watch. Not everyone agrees with this however, a lot of people are very fast to jump on the hate wagon and essentially attack or 'meme' these people out of pure hate, or maybe even jealousy in some cases.

One of maybe the most hated content creators on Twitch is Amouranth. Whether it's because of her pushing the Twitch T.O.S boundaries, or just out of pure jealousy, people love to hate her. But, I honestly think she is one of the most amazing and unique streamers on Twitch, and this is why. Warning. This post is 100% my opinion and it's totally fine for you to disagree, but please respect my opinion.

Most people see Amouranth as controversial and have nothing but bad things to say about her, but I think she's absolutely incredible. Not only is she unapologetically herself, but she is also probably the most dedicated streamer I watch. She streams for so long that I can literally go to bed when she's streaming, and wake up to her still streaming. It's a great feeling when you can watch your favourite streamer at any time. Even if she really pushes the boundaries and people don't love that, she really does work harder than she is given credit for! And her having the ultimate goal of opening an animal sanctuary is not talked about anywhere near enough. I feel like that's an important thing to consider when talking about her.

Another really amazing thing about Amouranth, and even the hot tub streaming community in general is the lack of internal drama. There is so much drama in other communities on Twitch, but I have never seen arguing or drama of any kind between Amouranth or any other hot tub/ ear licking ASMR streamers. I think that's hugely admirable and really impressive because I haven't seen that in any other communities really.

All in all I really admire Amouranth, and I find her to be a really relaxing and genuine content creator to watch. I admire her work ethic so much and I just think she gets far too much hate for just living her life and being her genuine self. At the end of the day she is honestly a really entertaining streamer, and I don't think people should be so quick to judge just because they don't like the idea of her.

'Lake', Mail Delivery Made Beautiful

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

When it comes to indie games, they tend to have a one-of-a-kind charm that I feel can't be showcased in games by huge studios. The stories can often be a lot deeper, and you can often feel how much love is put into the games. I feel like this is why we are so easily drawn to them.

Lake is beautiful indie adventure game set in 1986 that follows the story of Meredith who returns from the big city to her small hometown of Providence Oaks, Oregon to fill in as the local mail carrier for two weeks. During this two weeks, Meredith must complete mail deliveries daily, all whilst building relationships with the locals of the town. The way you talk to each person will help decide who you befriend, who you will basically hate, and who you could become more than friends with.

I really love the simplistic beauty of Lake. It really showcases the beauty that seems to only come from art styles from indie developers. Lake is a very good example of an amazing game that isn't overly complicated. This is also complimented by the soundtrack that just feels so fitting for the game. I also really love that there is a streamer mode that allows you to cut out the music that could give you a copyright strike while creating content for it. It's a really nice and considerate touch that all games should have honestly.

I highly recommend this game for any indie lovers who are looking for a game with solid storytelling and really incredible characters. I feel like the more days you play in game, the more the characters develop, along with you relationship with them. This is a huge highlight of the game that I absolutely fell in love with upon playing it. There are a few small glitches in the game too, but honestly, some of them make the game even better as weird as it sounds. I will definitely be playing this game again very soon.

The Hand-drawn Beauty of 'Catty & Batty: The Spirit Guide'

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

Art style is such an important part about any kind of game. A decent art style is the first thing to catch people's attention, which can make or a break a game. One of the best art styles in my opinion is definitely a hand drawn art style.

Catty & Batty: The Spirit Guide is an absolutely amazing, yet simple puzzle game where you guide the little spirit characters back to their home. Catty and Batty, the main characters, are able to create different types of boxes, all while using different items and overcoming different obstacles. There is no one way to complete some levels, meaning you really have to use your creativity to beat them.

The art style of this game is so charming and simplistic. I find the hand drawn art just so relaxing to experience and it makes the game really easy to keep playing without any frustration. The jazzy soundtrack also makes this game so light-hearted and fun, which also makes it easy to sit and beat the game in one sitting without even really realizing. I also really love that it gets super challenging the more you play, but not instantly, which allows you to actually learn the mechanics and not just rage quit.

This game is perfect for lovers of the puzzle genre, or even people that want to dip their toe into the genre. The hand drawn art makes it so appealing that I don't think anyone could say no to it. I also think the price of $4.99 is an absolute steal for what you are getting with this game. I for one will be playing this repeatedly, just to try to finish it faster every time.

What is your favourite puzzle game? Comment down below! Also a huge shout out to Sometimes You for giving me yet another review copy of one of their incredible games. It's appreciated beyond words.

'Northgard', A Reintroduction into the RTS Genre

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

Real-time strategy games can be a bit of a rarity in the modern world of gaming. Even though it fits so well in the ever so popular simulation genre, it can be so often overlooked, making some of the games very overrated. That brings us to today's game.

Northgard is an incredible real-time strategy game that follows the story of a group of Vikings moving to the newly discovered Northgard. Before they are able to do so, however, the entire group is slain apart from one member. This member swears revenge on the enemies who did this. This leads to where you need to pick one of 6 clans, and build multiple structures and amenities to strengthen the clan. You also need to manage things such as the food stock and assign certain people to certain positions.

Northgard is really impressive in the way that it takes such a beloved genre, and makes it feel unique without straying too far away from some of the aspects we have all grown to love about it over time. I find the art style to be really clean and visually pleasing to look at, which is a huge perk of the game. I also found the music to be epic and very well suited for a Viking game, which lead to me finding it elsewhere to listen to, even if I'm not playing the game.

I feel like anyone who loves the bigger real-time strategy games will enjoy Northgard. It's a twist on a beloved genre that has become less populated with new titles, but Northgard scratches that itch for sure. It is also potentially a really good starting point for those who want to try the genre or just simply step into the territory of a unique game in the genre. I want to say a huge thank you to Shiro Games for providing me with a copy of this game on Switch. It was so refreshing to play and reignited my love for RTS games.

'Virus Blast', A Challenge That My Life Needed

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

It can be really hard to find difficult games sometimes. There is a plethora of cosy and relaxing games that exist, but sometimes a challenge is exactly what the doctor asked for. And the game I'm about to discuss is very much that, a challenge.

When I say Virus Blast is a fast paced shooter, that is maybe the understatement of the year. Virus Blast is a shooter where you literally play a bullet and the aim is to hit targets to steal as much data as possible. This is all while you climb as high as possible in a magnificent world of digital beauty. This is all while your enemy, a firewall, tries to sideline you and make everything more difficult for you.

Virus Blast seems like your average fast paced shooter, but it quickly becomes extremely addictive. I feel like it is so simplistic and simultaneously unique that you can pick it up and suddenly be instantly obsessed. The difficulty gets increasingly higher, which is usually the case, but this just makes the game infinitely better. This also makes it super satisfying when you beat your own high scores.

The graphics of this game are eye catching, but also not overly complicated. I feel like this also just improves it more than ever, because you can admire the graphics without getting overly distracted. The soundtrack is also an absolute bop and I felt super motivated listening to it while playing this game super poorly.

I feel like Virus Blast was made for the people who just need a fast paced challenge in their life. This game is criminally underrated, and I feel like it absolutely deserves more exposure than it has received. I also think anyone who is decent at this game is basically a god compared to me. A huge thank you to Rooftop Dog for giving me a copy of this game. It's really amazing, yet insanely difficult for mere mortals like myself.

Go on an Adventure with 'Summer In Mara'

Hi everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

Farming simulator games have quickly become one of the most popular types of simulation games. It tends to be one of the genres that brings a lot of relaxation to the player, quickly making it easy to play and mega appealing. Mix farming simulation with adventure and you have yourself 2 of the absolute best genres.

Summer In Mara is a truly adorable adventure/ farming sim where you play as a little girl who needs to leave her home to find answers following a the arrival of a strange creature on her shores. The opening scene gives you a cut scene that is filled with mystery as it tells you nothing about what you need to do in the game. This is not the only time the game does this however.

The colourful island that you live on is so picturesque, I found myself spending a lot of time just admiring the general scenery of the area. The aim is to help the inhabitants of the main island and travel between islands on your boat to do so on others islands. There are many quests that involve backtracking a lot of the time, but I love that because it means more time to admire the islands. It is not overly complicated, and I really love that.

The art style of this game is absolutely stunning, and I feel like that largeness of the world just showcases this so well. The character designs just further show the sheer beauty of this game's style. This is also complimented by a truly incredible soundtrack that is a huge highlight of this already spectacular game. Never has backtracking been so exciting to do!

I recommend this game for anybody that loves to go on an adventure. The story of this game swiftly goes from mysterious to amazing, and I just couldn't put it down for days on end. I also really think this game is absolutely perfect for the Nintendo Switch, as it would be amazing to travel with. I also want to say a huge thank you to Chibig Studios for giving me a review copy of this game for Steam! It was amazing to experience and I actually ended up getting it on Switch too.

'The Legend of Icaro', A Standout in the Metroidvania Genre

Hey everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

The metroidvania genre is crowded to say the least. It feels like there are so many games, yet not many that are truly able to stand out above the rest. It is a rarity for a game in the genre to feel fresh and new, but this game has managed to do it for sure.

The Legend of Icaro is a metroidvania styled shooter where you need to free men from machines, and uncover mysteries within the world. This is a 3rd person game and there are a lot of platforming elements in it. The aim is to make it through each level, fight enemies and overcome many obstacles. There are also a lot of amazing NPCs in this game.

I am not usually much of a fan of the metroidvania genre, but this game was instantly an exception to that feeling. This game has some basic but really nice graphics, and I feel like it is really well made for a game created by just one developer. I also really love the soundtrack of this game, and it just makes me want to fly through the amazing environment and complete all sections. The character design is also just generally amazing, I'm a huge fan of it.

This game is perfect for metroidvania fans, and I think it would also be a decent dip into the genre for new people. I also think it has a lot of replayability as it just made me want to go through it all again and complete it faster and faster. It is a really amazing game in a genre that is a little bit overrun but mediocre games.

What is your favourite metroidvania game? Comment down below! Also a huge thank you to Abyzzmo Entertainment for giving me a copy of this game! I really enjoyed it!

'Embracelet', The Cosy Adventure We Needed

Hi everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

Indie games are such an important part of the world of gaming. They reflect on beauty that big studios could probably never achieve. I find they are usually also the most cosy and relaxing games you can find, and sometimes that is just the kind of game we need in our lives.

Embracelet is a beautiful exploration game about Jasper, a Norwegian boy with a strong connection to his grandfather. It follows the story of a magical bracelet, which Jasper must return to where his grandfather grew up. This is all while Jasper discovers the history of his grandfather. This is all while you meet and build a relationship with the two friends he meets.

There art style and sceneries in this game just scream cosy throughout the entire game. The simplicity of the art is amazing, but the soundtrack just makes the entire experience insanely relaxing and mellow. I feel like this is the type of game most people could just sit and play in one sitting, and then it makes you want to experience it all again. All in all it is not just a game, it truly is an entire experience.

The storyline of this game is a little bit sombre, but also very beautiful. It doesn't have a huge level of difficulty, which is just something that you don't see in a lot of games these days. It also manages to teach us some subtle life lessons about things such as the waste on our planet, and recycling, which is of course a very important thing for everyone to be educated about. This is all also complimented well with the concept of choices leading to different outcomes.

I highly recommend this game for any Indie game lovers, or any people that love cosy yet simplistic games, like myself. The 3 to 6 hours of gameplay is long enough for the price to be well worth it, and I will definitely be playing it again soon. A huge shout out and thank you to machineboy for being kind enough to give me a copy of this beautiful game for the Switch. I am very grateful.

5 Amazing Streamers I Have Binged In 2021

Hi everyone! It's your last, Galaxy Gaymer!

2021 has been a less than ideal year from most perspectives, but Twitch has been a huge silver lining for so many people. There's something so comforting about being able to watch your favourite creators, especially in these hard times full of lockdown and silence. So, I am going to share just a few streamers today that have made the harder times so much easier. That's right, here are 5 amazing twitch streamers I have watched in 2021. These are in no particular order, because quote frankly these 5, and so many more are equally amazing! Let's dive in.

1. Brittzey ( https://twitch.tv/brittzey )

One of my favourite types of streamers to watch is the ones who clearly have a huge passion for what they do. Twitch can be such a daunting platform sometimes, filled with money hungry vultures who want to get Twitch Partner and then get rich quick, Brittzey is the polar opposite of those people.

I was lucky enough to be introduced to Brittzey's streams near the beginning of the year, and instantly she has this personality that is just louder than life, but also insanely loving and welcoming. There is no way you could go into a Brittzey stream and not just smile the entire time, she just has this positively infectious spirit about her, and you can tell that she absolutely loves what she does.

Now, some people try for Partner that absolutely deserve it, and there is no doubt in my mind that Brittzey is one of the most deserving people. She puts everything into her streams and stays so genuine, and I know someday will be THAT day, and it will happen. But until then, and no doubt way beyond then, we can all enjoy Britt's amazing streams filled with laughs, singing and a great sense of community.

2.  TheSupremeRK9s ( https://twitch.tv/TheSupremeRK9s )

In my opinion, jumping from one platform to another is a huge choice, and in 2021 Twitch was lucky enough to have Dallas aka TheSupremeRK9s join the platform. A lot can be said about the Pokemon community, but a huge part of it is how amazing its creators are.

Dallas is one of the most unique Poketubers. He has put so many twists on shiny hunting, and done some of the most insane challenges, and it is nearly impossible to be entertained by him. In fact, he may even have the most genuine reactions of all shiny hunters I know. It's like everything just comes so naturally to him.

No matter what mood I have been in for the past few literal years, Dallas has been one of my go-to content creators. Whether it's his shiny hunting, his little dip into Animal Crossing content, or any of his other amazing content, there is always something to make me laugh uncontrollably.

3. Lunaege ( https://twitch.tv/lunaege )

As far as more recent streamers I have started adoring go, the first one that comes to mind is Luna. Every single one of her streams are insanely relaxing, and I feel like all Luna is really doing is being her amazing self and vibing.

Luna has this warm personality about her, and it just draws you in and makes you want to stay in her streams, which I feel like can be a little bit rare on Twitch. She also makes sure to take the time to reply to every single person in chat, and ensure that everyone knows they are important, and that's just something that makes my heart so happy.

I know there are a lot of cosy streamers, but Luna is different to all of them in the best way. I guarantee, if you watch her, you will instantly feel warm and welcome by her and her community. She also may have one of my favourite aesthetics at the moment on Twitch which I am a sucker for. Luna deserves literally all the love and more.

4. SonicBuckley01 ( https://twitch.tv/SonicBuckley01 )

Sometimes I can be pretty good at convincing people to do chaotic things, but none quite like the first time I was in SonicBuckley01's chat. The first time I went into his stream, I may or may not have convinced him to attempt a 12 hour stream. I didn't know him at all, but I still managed to convince him.

He is one of the people in the Pokemon community that is the perfect combination of chilled and kind of crazy in a good way. His streams will be so relaxing to vibe in one second, and then next second he will have the best shiny reaction out of nowhere that will instantly make your heart happy.

This guy has deserved all the success he's had on Twitch so far, and he deserves so much more. I know that any Pokemon fan won't regret dropping into his streams. You're truly in for a treat.

5. AzureBay ( https://twitch.tv/azurebay )

It may be quite bias for me to have AzureBay aka Chloe on this list, some may find it unfair, but tough tits it's my list and you'll probably survive. Chloe is probably my most watched streamer by this point. As I am writing this, I have watched her for literally over 15 days, which is insane.

Chloe's streams are another good example of super welcoming, but like everyone else on this list, the community reflects her own amazingness. She has worked so hard for less than a year, and deserved all the love she gets.

I could go on all day, but, Chloe is literally one of the most incredible people you could ever talk to. If you talk to her, she will make sure you know you're important, and she will always give you the the of day in her streams. I just feel like you can't go wrong with her.

2021 may have been a tough year, but these are just some of the amazing streamers that have made my year so much easier. There will be more lists like this to come, but in the meantime, who are some of your favourite streamers? Comment down below!

'Long Ago: A Puzzle Tale', Familiar Yet Fresh

Hello everyone! It's your lad, Galaxy Gaymer!

The puzzle gaming genre is maybe one of the hardest gaming genres to make a stand-out title in. In a genre that has been around longer than most, creating something unique is crucial for when stepping into puzzle games. But, that's exactly what today's game has managed to do.

Long Ago: A Puzzle Tale is a short but amazing fantasy based puzzle game by the incredible Grim Talin. The aim of the game is to get through a series of puzzles made up of spheres and mazes, all while there is an amazing story that unravels as you complete more of the game. There are three collectibles that allow you to progress in the game which are coins, blue gems and feathers!

The general feeling of Long Ago: A Puzzle Tale is thought-provoking, yet really relaxing at the same time. I was thoroughly impressed by the voice acting, and the story of the girl locked in the tower is just such a nice story. A huge highlight of the game is also the soundtrack, which is just so simplistic yet amazing. It absolutely adds to the already amazing atmosphere.

I recommend this game for both puzzle game veterans and noobs alike. There's just something so fresh yet familiar to this game that I think you are definitely getting your money's worth out of it. Long Ago: A Puzzle Tale is the kind of game you definitely need to keep an eye out for.

What is your favourite puzzle game of all time? Comment down below! Although I have not posted in 10 months, this was definitely the perfect game to come back to. Thank you Grim Talin for a review copy of this game, it's much appreciated!

Have a nice day!
